Why Study Abroad?

Course credit: By studying abroad you can gain academic credit. In some instances your coursework while overseas will go towards your degree. In other cases you'll earn elective credits. These are options you should consider when deciding if studying abroad is right for you.

Real-life experience: Studying overseas can help you gain real-life experience you may not be able to get at home. Consider the hands-on learning you will receive from your international program and decide if the benefits are right for you.

Lifelong memories: Your time visiting may be the most challenging and rewarding experience of your college career. You will be exposed to new cultural customs and may have to learn a new language. However, all of that will pale in comparison to the friendships you make and will keep in your memories forever.

Career advancement: Many employers place a high value on prospective employees who have studied and lived overseas. They know international experience broadens a person's perspectives and often gives them the ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds. In today's global marketplace employers understand the value of employees who can work with many different types of people.

Christian fellowship: Studying abroad is your opportunity to be a witness to Christ's good teachings on a global scale. As a LeTourneau University student you will be joined by fellow Christians, so you'll have a built-in support system ready to help you and guide you during your international experience.
